coffee table with storage - custom design/build

I aim for Durability, elegance and functionality. This coffee table is made from black walnut veneered ply wood. It has a water based satin clear coat and wax finish on the outside to create a lasting, loW shine, natural finish. On the inside, a high gloss clear bar top epoxi coating, over a matte powder blue spray paint, creating depth and contrast from the wood finish.

shou sugi ban fir shelf & coffee table - custom design/build

Filling an unused space behind this couch with a custom fitted, tiEred Shelf.

After the shou sugi ban technique, I gave it a lite coat of custom coloured stain, then a linseed oil and thinned satin polyurethane to keep the grain bright and resistant.

Barn Beam table top - custom design/build

two peices of recovered barn beam, plained down to 2”, joined, stained, clear coated and mounted to the bar-height table legs from our previous table. I love building furniture.

REPLICAS

replicating the Japanese emperor’s Chrysanthemum Throne

We had 4 days to get this chair ready for upholstering. We appropriated parts from other chairs, lamps, door knockers, casting copies for symmetry. joining them together with MEdium-Density Fibre board, railing parts and decorative mouldings. It was a mad dash and it took a great team to pull it off.
